Boavista, Cape Verde- Peacefull, Natural, Relaxed
The island of Boa Vista is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and best conditions for water sports of the 13 islands of Cape Verde located about 500-600 km in front of the North African coast of Dakar, about 1000 kilometers south of the Canary Islands.
This incredible location is blessed with vast expanses of untouched golden sand, surrounded by crystal clear waters and boasting a relaxed and low-key atmosphere in harmony with Cape Verde’s atmosphere.
Cape Verdeans are a very simple people, friendly and conversational, the hospitality of these people is impressive, Morabeza means affability, kindness, gentleness. “Where there is morabeza, there is longing.
The place is ideal for those looking to escape the cold of Europe during the winter and practice sea sports. If you like good fish you are in paradise. The fish is fresh caught every day in our bay. You definitely can’t find any fresher fish than here.
OUR PARTNER
The Bahia restaurant is our partner, a wonderful place that offers a calm and relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy magnificent sun loungers in front of the sea, and a top quality food and drink service, without missing a delicious caipirinha at the end of the day watching the magnificent sunset.
SPOT OVERVIEW
This place offers perfect conditions for kitesurfing, wingfoil or windsurfing from November until the end of April, the trade winds from the north-northeast (NNE) with speeds between 15 and 30 that stabilize from 11 am and lose intensity around 5 p.m., make this a prime destination for practitioners of all disciplines looking for consistent and reliable wind.
Baia is a magnificent spot with offshore wind, depending on the conditions we can have flat water or waves, the location is perfect with swells at the waist or shoulder when you can enter and exit from the sea safely.
If you are looking for an easy wave to ride in any modality, almost in front of our center we have a reef with a perfect wave up to your waist or shoulder, an excellent option where you can do some maneuvers with the side wind off.
If you want a heavier wave Leoa is perfect located 900 meters from our center it is a right that is divided into 3 sections you don’t need to go over the shore break just go out through the channel to get to the outside.
On days with more swell when the safety boats cannot enter the sea due the big waves and the very aggressive shore break, we will take you to the best spots around the island with our experienced guides, they know the best spot each day depending the wind direction or swell.

When you land on Boavista, you can already see the surf spot. The airport is small and easy to navigate and from there you can be at your accommodation in Sal Rei and at our surf school in around 10 minutes by car. We will be happy to organize the transfer for you in advance.
We are there for you every day (7 days a week) from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
As the wind and waves are at their best in the winter months, we only open our center during these months. The season starts at the end of October and lasts until the end of April.
You are welcome to book hotels with us, the Hotel Estoril (10 minutes’ walk to the center). Several other accommodations in the small town of Sal Rei also offer beautiful, authentic and lovely rooms.
With its wind and wave conditions, Boavista has now become an absolute paradise, especially for wing foilers and surfers. Due to the diagonally offshore wind direction from the right, beginners in particular will find good conditions here to learn a new water sport. Our effective kite and wing foil boat training courses offer absolute safety and quick learning success thanks to the instructor’s constant accompaniment with the boat.
Even if the temperatures are warm, we recommend bringing a thin wetsuit or at least a shorty. If you would like to surf, then our small house reef to the side of the center offers you a nice playground, for protection we recommend wearing surf shoes here. However, it is also possible without, as the rocks are not sharp-edged.
We generally recommend that everyone get to know the country and its people. You are absolutely safe as a self-caterer and you will also find three supermarkets in Sal Rei where you can get everything you need. The nice little fishing village really has a special charm that you obviously can’t experience in the big TUI hotels.
Of course, if you want something a little more comfortable, you can also have a great time in the big hotels. From the TUI hotels you can reach the center in 5 minutes by taxi. Taxis are available on every corner and don’t cost much.
It is highly recommended to rent a car for at least one day to take a tour of the island. Quad tour operators also offer great trips to breathtaking and extensive beaches.
